HP launches new range of solutions for SMBs

In its bid to address the SMB market of India, Hewlett-Packard India announced the launch of five new imaging and printing solutions. These solutions help businesses increase efficiency and control and secure their information-management processes.

The solutions launched include: HP ePrint Enterprise mobile printing, HP EcoSMART Fleet, HP Imaging and Printing Security Center, HP Access Control Professional and HP Access Control Express.

Nitin Hiranandani, Director, HP Printing Systems India, stated: “In today’s scenario, mid-sized businesses in India are demanding the same sophisticated solutions-enabled printing devices that have helped larger enterprises to optimize their imaging and printing infrastructure. Although the business scenarios are different in nature and SMBs are expecting single point solution for their challenges. With today’s launch, we are addressing the evolving business needs of our customers by offering them five new solutions which will improve their work-flow efficiency, enhance security and increase operational efficiencies, and lower the environmental impact. These solutions will act as solution-in-a-box.”

Further highlighting the need of better awareness towards imaging and printing solutions for SMBs, Hiranandani also added: “Sometimes, small or mid sized businesses tends to ignore the total cost of ownership for their imaging and printing infrastructure. An industry study clearly indicate that a single dollar spent of the printing infrastructure can lead to $9 spent on the managing that printing infrastructure. HP identified this as a challenge as would like to showcase those solutions which can transform better printing and imaging experience from the perspective of quality and cost.”

However, HP India is aggressively focusing on the Indian SMB segment. In order to target this market, HP has initiated a multipronged go to market strategy. “We understand the potential of the SMB segment. To reach out to the market we have initiated an extended sales force which will target this segment for us. There will be extensive tele calling activity going to be done on Indian SMBs. However, HP’s own sales team will always be there. In terms of market segments BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail and IT/ITES etc are among few priority market segments for HP.”

Gurpreet Kanwal, Country Business Manager, PMPS and Solutions, PPS, HP India said: “HP’s imaging and printing solutions are designed to offer small and medium businesses the advantages of a secure and managed print environment, reduced costs, and the ability to control their printing fleet in an optimized manner. These solutions will help businesses create intelligent and smart printing infrastructure, which in turn will help them reduce cost and increase productivity, while lowering the environmental impact at the same time.”

The solutions which are launched are built on Open Extensibility Platform, HP’s device-independent technology that allows them to work across a fleet of both old and new devices. Elabortaing about the technology behind OEP, Gurpreet added: “Businesses do not need to buy new devices in order to support the latest solutions; because all devices support one version of a solution and one solution supports multiple devices. These solutions can also reside on a FutureSmart server, which helps businesses future proof the imaging and printing fleet. It also allows one to manage solutions in the same way one monitors and controls the devices—using HP Web Jetadmin.” Moreover, with HP FutureSmart firmware, the entire fleet of HP FutureSmart devices can be updated with new features and capabilities as they emerge.
