He announced Rs.50 crore for the Ministry of Textiles. Rs. 10 crore will be allotted to the textile park being constructed in various parts of the country.
He also announced Rs. 96 crore for the handloom sector, which will benefit the 150 lakh weavers in the country.
The Minister also announced Rs. 850 crore for the khadi and coir industry, which has over 800 clusters across the country.
The Finance Minister also announced Rs. 2,200 crore for the Ministry of MSME, for setting up training centres in various parts of the country.
He expressed assurance that industries like steel, wood, cement, and construction industries would benefit from the Rajiv Gandhi Equity Scheme.
