The CII members had an interactive meeting with the Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Oleksandr Shevchenko on Feb 23, 2012
During this meeting, Shevchenko expressed that Ukraine is looking for closer trade ties with India in terms of the chemical, metallurgy, alternative medicine, energy, tourism, mobile power generation, oil and gas, education and automotive sectors.
Ukraine already has a strong base in the aerospace industry in India. Ukraine is now looking to broaden its trade horizons with India.
Shevchenko also added that Ukraine is establishing a new growth policy, which will include trade relations with India as a priority.
Andhra Pradesh was highlighted as having ample opportunities for investment in SMEs. The VP of CII Andhra Pradesh and joint managing director of Bharat Biotech International, Suchitra Ella pointed out that knitting, hosiery and clothing textiles, leather products, food processing, sugar refining, oil extraction and starch and molasses production and footwear are the sectors that show great investment opportunities.
In an effort to promote investment in Andhra Pradesh, Ella added that the state has fared well over the years in the automobile, biotechnology, tourism, bulk drug, medicine and energy sectors, reported the Hindu Business Line.
