
New Delhi: Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Kalraj Mishra Thursday expressed his hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to announce some healthy measures from the Red Fort on Independence Day to encourage self-employment in rural as well as urban areas.
The minister has said that the government has already launched an online shopping portal mainly dedicated to MSMEs. Also has launched the Naukri (Job) Portal (www.niesbudnaukri.com) developed by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD).
Mishra has said that the government is simplifying the process to facilitate MSMEs more. "The facilities which entrepreneurs should get are not there like single window system. We are simplifying the process to facilitate entrepreneurs," he said.
He said: "If work is done properly, effectively and on priority basis in this sector, then we can see that a person with minimum income can get employment. He can feel self reliant."
MSME sector contributes around 8 percent of the country's GDP, 45% of the manufacturing output and 40% of the exports. Minister said that the MSME ministry is encouraging small entrepreneurs by which they can stand strongly.
"We are in process of framing a separate policy for MSME sector," he added. The minister also assured the students of IMM, was present in the conference, that his ministry is ready to give all kind of support to start-up entrepreneurs.
The objective of this conference is to bring together entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and sectors, in order to create a platform of networking, knowledge sharing, ideas and opportunities for everyone.
The Conference was also followed by a special address by Pratibha Advani, Managing Director, Swayam Infotainment Private Limited and Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, Amrapali Group.
