The inclusion of the industry representative in the executive council will give the industry an opportunity to bridge the gap between the university education and industry expectation. While the university education is largely designed to produce students of academic excellence, industry expects the fresh graduates to be productive by practical experience and adequate knowledge of the industry. Therefore, with an industry representative on the board of the University, the educational system will earn a facility to have spot assessment of the requirements of Industry and an expert opinion on the up-gradation of skills required by the industry. This will also help the universities to amend their academic syllabus in tune with the aspirations and requirements of the industry.
As Shivakumar on the board, the association and the industry hopes to share its expert advice to the universities to facilitate effective employment, empowerment and entrepreneurship.
