The TRS government in Telangana is looking for several new investment opportunities in the newly created state. The state has set a target to grow its IT exports to the tune of Rs 1.2 lakh crore till 2019, IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao said.
The state minister, who recently completed his USA tour said, “We want to double IT exports in the coming five years from Rs 57,000 crore to Rs 1.20 lakh crore.”
Also, Kerala has registered a good growth with export income touching Rs 10,000 crore in the last four years after the UDF government came to power as against Rs 2,000 crore during the previous regime.
The IT export was expected to touch Rs 15,000 crore besides creating employment to 2 lakh persons with the commissioning of the first phase of Kozhikode Cyberpark and Kochi Smart City this year.
The state is also taking several e-governance initiatives such as converting 14 districts into e-districts. Measures for providing one gigabyte connectivity to all Gram Panchayats were in final stages.
