Oil, Soaps And More: 20 Items No Longer Under Exclusive SME Manufacturing

 
The government has opened 20 items, reserved for for exclusive manufacture by Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) Sector, to large enterprise

Removing the restriction on manufacturing, the government has opened 20 items, reserved for for exclusive manufacture by Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) Sector, to large enterprise.

The items include:
Bread, Pickles, Ground Nut Oil, Mustard oil, Laundry soap, wooden furniture, fireworks, Exercise Books, candles, agarbattis, Safety Matches,  glass bangles,  steel almirah,  rolling shutters,  steel furniture, Padlocks, steel and aluminium utensils.
 
 "On the recommendation of Advisory Committee, Government of India vide Notification S.O. 998 (E) dated 10.04.2015 have decided to deserve remaining 20 (Twenty) items presently reserved for exclusive manufacture by MSE Sector," it said.

"The policy initiatives have been taken to encourage greater investment, , including the existing MSME units, to incorporate better technologies, standard and branch building to enhance competition in Indian and global markets for these products," the Commerce and Industry Ministry said in a statement.

It said that over the years the list of items reserved for manufacture by MSME sector has been reduced from over 800 to 20.
