Christened the ‘District Industrial Profile’, the database lists industrial information pertaining to each state, broken down to include district-specific information. This is by far the most exhaustive database about India’s MSME sector; MSME clusters; state-run and private industries in a district; exports; growth trends, among other things.
Each district-specific industrial profile captures information under the following sub-headings:
-General characteristics of the district
-The district at a glance
- Existing small and micro enterprise clusters
- General issues raised by industry associations during their interactions with the government
-Prospects of training programs during the 2012-13 fiscal
-Action plan for MSME schemes during the 2012-13 fiscal
-Steps to set up MSMEs
-Additional information, if any
The states / union territories not covered by the database, as on date, are Andaman and Nicobar islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Gujarat, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Pondicherry and West Bengal.
