10 tips to recharge yourself at work

It is not uncommon among entrepreneurs to sometimes feel exhausted and drained of all enthusiasm and interest in work. There are certain things you can do to recharge yourself, whenever you find yourself in that situation.

SupportBiz lists 10 simple tips to do so.

  1. Take a power nap

You might not think it is such a great idea to take a nap in the middle of a busy work day, when there are a lot of tasks pending on your to-do list. However, it is a wonderful thing to recharge your batteries. Taking a 20-minute power nap during your work day will reinvigorate you, ensuring that you return to your job with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

  1. Kick-start your work day with exercise

You might think that starting your work day with vigorous exercise will tire you out, and take away from your productivity. However, that is not true. Starting your day with some form of exercise will get your adrenaline pumping and your blood flowing. You will be able to kick-start your work day with greater enthusiasm after a round of exercise.

  1. Be free of negativity

Rid yourself of all forms of negativity. Get rid of any emotional baggage of grief, helplessness, anger, resentment or grudges that you might have been carrying. Once you are free of these toxic feelings, you will find yourself recharged, and will be able to work with new vigour, passion and insight.

  1. Talk to a loved one

When you are feeling low on energy and productivity, it is a good idea to call and talk to a loved one. It could be anyone – a friend, a husband/wife, a child or any other relative. Reconnect with them. Talk to them about the highs and lows that you are going through. The short conversation is bound to recharge your batteries.

  1. Analyse

When you are feeling low during a work day, take the time to evaluate the kind of work that you are doing. Are you really satisfied with it? Is there something else you would rather do? Is there something you would like to do differently? What is holding you back? Are there processes that you would like to eliminate? This process will help you find out whether you really love what you are doing or not, and what you need to change in your work day routine to feel recharged.

  1. Do something good for someone

Do something nice for a colleague or someone else at the workplace, which is not related to work. You will definitely feel better when you see the smile that you have brought upon their face. Surely, it will reinvigorate you.

  1. Take a humour break

Spend some time during your work day for a humour break. Read something that will make you laugh, or spend time with colleagues who bring a smile on your face. You will feel instantly rejuvenated.

  1. Go for a walk

Go for a short walk of about 20 minutes in the middle of your work day. Get out of your cabin, and take the time to observe people, nature and the world around you at large. You will definitely return to work refreshed.

  1. Resolve pending issues

Take the time to resolve any pending issues that you might have at work. Have those conversations you have been willing to have with your colleagues for long. Work on building open, honest and transparent relations with your colleagues. This will surely boost you up.

  1.  Read something fun

Take a break to read something fun in the middle of your work day. It could be something from a forwarded e-mail or a book or magazine. It could be humorous, inspiring or news-worthy, but as long as it is something different from what you read routinely, it will take your mind off your lack of enthusiasm and renew your vigour to work.
