India Inc is hiring in 2012. According to one placement officer, there are no signs of a slump in the economy and there are no signs of a recession. In fact, the placement process started much earlier than in the previous year. This year, the minimum and maximum salaries offered are in the Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh range.
Good news for engineering students. It seems to be an average to a good year for placements as a good number of recruiters have visited campuses, offering decent pay packets. Information Technology still features in the ‘wanted’ list.
Those studying at the country’s top B-schools need not worry about the job market. IIM points out that there has been a drop in pre-placement offers from 95 to 75 this year, which is not as drastic as it was anticipated. The banking sector, public and private banks included, seem most positive in terms of growth.
