The Expo, being organised by Avenues, a public affairs and communication firm in New Delhi, will almost coincide with the state visit of Japan's Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
The event, aimed at promoting tourist traffic in both directions, will be inaugurated by the Tourism Minister of India, Dr. K. Chiranjeevi. The Commissioner of Japan's apex tourism body, Japan Tourism Agency, is expected to be the Guest of Honour at the event.
Participants at the Expo will include the Japan Tourism Agency, Japan National Tourism Organization, Japan Airlines, Indian Ministry of Tourism, several tourism departments from State Governments, top travel and tourism companies from Japan and India, Air India and private carriers, top-end hotel groups and umbrella bodies of stakeholders in the travel & tourism sector.
Moreover, decision and policy makers, senior executives from private travel companies, hotels, airlines, railways etc. from both countries will participate in panel discussions during the Expo. Recommendations, ideas and suggestions thrown up during discussions will be considered to make user friendly amendments in rules and regulations. A one-on-one interaction will focus on marketing new destinations, packages and other tourism related facilities.
