A Centre for Entrepreneurship (CoE) will be set up by SNU, where research will be carried out, along with the development of resources.
The CoE will aim at creating an atmosphere of entrepreneurship in the country, and developing specialized programs to aid the small businesses in the country. The Centre will also help enterprising students obtain venture capital funds.
Babson College will help SNU in designing the course curriculum.
Nikhil Sinha, Vice Chancellor of SNU, stated: “Our country needs new entrepreneurs to create an adequate number of jobs in the future. While individuals and business families in India have displayed sharp business acumen and have established global recognition, there is a need for structured and formal intervention through education to nurture and promote leadership in entrepreneurship."
Shahid Ansari, Dean and Provost of Babson College, stated: “Our focus in India is job creation.”
SNU is a venture by HCL Technologies’ founder, Shiv Nadar. The MBA program offered by Babson College has been ranked first for entrepreneurship by the US News & World Report for 19 years in a row.
