Nagpur trading community signs up against LBT

Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) supporting the action initiated by Federation of Associations of Maharashtra (FAM) has launched a signature campaign to abolish the Local Body Tax (LBT) tremendous response.

On 14th November 2013, NVCC kick started the signature campaign by taking the signature of Anil Sole, Nagpur Mayor. He was made aware the need of the trade community of the city. Various bodies of the business community in Maharashtra, under the umbrella of FAM have requested the traders and the general public for their signatures to be submitted to the Chief Minister.

For this purpose books to collect signatures have been sent across the state. In the meeting Anil Sole assured the traders that he was always on their side. About 60 books for signatures were distributed.

Nagpur today reported that about 1,03,228 signatures were collected from the members of trading community, customers and general public of Nagpur.

NVCC President Dipen Agrawal appealed to the Chief Minister, Maharashtra to consider the recommendations of Maharashtra Economic Developments Council (MEDC) and implement the same by withdrawing LBT. He further said that all the books containing the signatures would be forwarded to FAM, Mumbai by the Chamber for onward transmission to the Chief Minister.
