'India and China are partners in development'

Asserting that India and China are not rivals, Chinese Consul General Niu Qingbao said that both countries are rather partners in development. "China and India have been in the news for many years, first because both are fastest-growing major economies, which lead some to predict that we will dominate the world. We have border disputes that had resulted in what strategists term as 'unavoidable confrontation' or 'rivalry' between us," Niu said while addressing a seminar.

India-EU trade exchanges fall in Jan-April 2012

Exports from the European Union (EU) to India have fallen by one percent from EUR13.1 billion for January to April, 2011 to EUR13 billion (about USD16 billion) for the like period this year, EUAsia News reported. Indian exports to the EU, however, fell by 10 percent from EUR13.8 billion in January to April 2011 to EUR12.4 billion for the same period in 2012.
