Well past its golden jubilee, the Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) has been guiding small entrepreneurs in the state to success with its effective organizational structure and strong presence throughout the state.
Being the apex body of small scale industries in the state, TANSTIA has over 2500 individual members in addition to all the 32 district associations that come under the association. TANSTIA works very closely with all the 80 industrial estates associations and all major product associations in Tamil Nadu.
“We normally get involved in all the policy interventions both center and state governments. Because of our involvement, the government has recognized our organizational importance which makes us one of the board members in SIDCO, TIIC and MSME in addition to representing the SME concerns at the parliamentary sub-committee, planning commission and more,” Mr. C.K.Mohan, Hon. General secretary, TANSTIA said.
The annual revenue of the scale industries in the state comes approximately around Rs.32500 crores and the major industries are auto components followed by foundry and textiles. The SMB sector in the state employs around 60 lakhs people.
Apart from offering and facilitating entrepreneur counseling, sub-contracting exchange, entrepreneur development program, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and trade visit to foreign countries, TANSTIA also has a collaborative imitative with Friedrich Naumann Foundation, Germany to facilitate the growth of the small-scale industries in Tamil Nadu.
