The All India Association of Industries (AIAI) was established in 1956 in Mumbai to cater to the industrial needs and growth in the commercial capital of India. The association has 1400 direct members and it represents over 30,000 industries through affiliates. Most of the members are from the SME sector.
Since its inception, the association played the role of the voice of the industry and highlighted the issues of the Indian SMEs. The association also works aggressively towards enabling the SMEs to capitalize existing opportunities.
The credible list of past presidents of the Association include people like Babubhai Chinai, Harish Mahindra, Ghanashyam Binani and Chandrakant S. Desai, who contributed significantly in making Mumbai a prosperous business capital. Presently, Vijay Kalantri is the President of the association. Besides this responsibility, Kalantry is also working as the Chairman and Managing Director at Balaji Infra Projects Ltd. In addition, Rupa Naik is associated with AIAI as the executive director.
AIAI’s members are the industrialists from all sectors of India and abroad. The industry verticals, the majority of its members belong to are heavy construction, infrastructure, shipping, logistics, engineering, process manufacturing, etc.
The association is providing advisory services on import, export, economic policies and taxation to its members. Apart from this, it also provides recommendation to its members for business visas and helps them in participating in business meetings with overseas trade delegations.
