Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting United States of America (USA) on September 24, 2015. Ahead of his historic economic trips in UAE, below are some of the Tweets by the Indian Prime Minister on his US trip.
”On 24th September 2015, I will commence my visit to USA. This visit seeks to build on the substantial ground covered during my last visit to USA and President Obama's visit to India early this year”, said PM on social media.
PM further added: “I am going to USA at a historic moment when the United Nations is celebrating its 70th anniversary. India attaches great importance to the United Nations. In July, I had written a letter to heads of governments of 193 nations outlining India’s vision for UN agenda and reforms. I am glad that leaders of several nations wrote back appreciating our vision.”
IT industry body Nasscom, TiE Silicon Valley, and IIM Ahmedabad’s CIIE India will host the first India-US Startup Konnect in the Silicon Valley on September 27 to showcase the strengths of India’s start-up ecosystem, a statement said. The Prime minister will address the India-US Start-up Konnect and share his vision on ’Start up India, Stand up India’ as part of his US visit.
The day-long event will highlight multiple dimensions of Indian innovation capabilities, represented by more than 30 startups across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, energy, financial inclusion, and biotechnology, as well as leading technology business incubators in the country.
During the USA visit Modi will be visiting the West Coast on 26th and 27th September, where he will join several programmes. It would be after a gap of almost 33 years that an Indian PM would be visiting the west coast – the home of start-ups, innovation and technology.
Modi said on investments and investors: “I will be meeting several world leaders during the visit. Also, I will have interactions with leading investors and financial sector firms. There will be a working dinner where major Fortune-500 companies will be present to deliberate on investment opportunities in India. We have been interacting with several American business leaders over the last year and the outcomes have been encouraging.”
Modi is expected to meet Apple CEO Tim Cook, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and electric carmaker Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk among others.
“Crafting the India of tomorrow is our collective responsibility. With India-US Startup Konnect, we aim to showcase success stories of Indian entrepreneurs to highlight the rapidly rising global impact of technology innovation from India,” Nasscom President, R Chandrashekhar, said.
