The district committee of TACT met under its President J. James recently and formulated several suggestions to benefit the micro units.
In the meeting TACT said that, government assistance is imperative for the formation of industrial estates, since the astronomic price of real estate in industrialized districts like Coimbatore deters the small unit owner to construct such estate on their own.
The Association suggested the estates to have suitable connectivity and the entrepreneurs to have easy repayment facility. It also asked for interest-free advance of a minimum of Rs 1 lakh to the units registered with the District Industries Centre to assist them in meeting festive spending. The issues disturbing the micro entrepreneurs like prolonged recession, flight of orders to other States, pressure from banks for loan repayment etc. were also discussed at the meeting.
