New Delhi: Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has allocated Rs.154.67 Crore for Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) during 2013-14 and thereby provided entrepreneurship and skill development training to 6,07,253 persons.
During the first two quarters of 2014-15; the Ministry trained 2,77,300 persons with an expenditure of Rs. 56.80 Crore. The Ministry of MSME conducts Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for the benefit of existing MSME entrepreneurs and their managerial and supervisory staff with the objective of increasing their productivity and contribution to GDP.
529 MDPs were organized during 2013-14 wherein 12,249 persons were imparted training on various aspects of management. So far, during the current year 1185 persons have participated in 60 MDPs organized in the first two quarters of the current year.
MDPs are organized on various aspects of management as per the needs of the local industry associations and manufacturing units.
