MSME Minister Promises Revival Of Sick Industries In Meerut

The event - MSME Sector, The Growth Engine - was held Indian Industries Association (IIA) hall at Mohkampur Industrial Estate.

Meerut: Kalraj Mishra, Union minister for MSME has promised small businessmen from Meerut to revive the sick industries and improve the conditions of the sector.

He said the centre is committed towards strengthening the sector and that greater cooperation between the Centre and the state government would help to bail out the industry out of its current crisis. Industry captains apprised the minister about various problems faced by them.

During his address, Ajay Gupta, ex-president, said, "Industry is in a dismal state. There is no support in terms of single window clearance, bank loans take ages to clear and the number of sick units is increasing at an alarming rate."

Mishra, on his part, said the MSME sector was key to the growth of the economy. He said it has played an immense role in progress of countries like China and Japan. Mishra assured industry leaders that steps are being taken to rejuvenate this sector and the government is giving special focus on this area.
