ICICI Academy for Skills to Train Coimbatore Youths

 
Aims to give skill training to 5,000 youngsters in its first year of operation.

Coimbatore, December 20: ICICI Academy for Skills, promoted by ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, has launched a centre for skill training in Coimbatore to make youngsters from economically weaker sections job ready, reports Business Line.

M.S. Ramachandran, Director, ICICI Bank informed at the launch that, the centre will offer free courses in four disciplines: selling skills, electrical and home appliance repair, refrigeration and air conditioning repair and pumps and motor repair. The Academy has partnered with Schneider Electric India Pvt Ltd, Blue Star Ltd and Crompton Greaves to finalise the course content.

In addition to free training, the centre will provide uniforms, meals and all relevant course material to the students free of cost during the courses; the duration of which ranges from 8 to 12 weeks.

ICICI Academy for Skills has already launched branches in Jaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune.
