Plastic City, Sewerage Treatment Plant To Come Up In UP

 
The Plastic City is being developed with an estimated project cost of around Rs 250 crores in 314 acres of land, of which 225 acres will be developed for industrial units and remaining 89 acres will be utilised for residential purpose.

Kanpur, January 16: Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) is developing a Plastic City at Dibiyapur in Auraiya district and a sewerage treatment plant for a housing sector in the industrial area of Bhogaon in the district of Mainpuri.

The preliminary works for the plastic city has already begun and the corporation is in the process of hiring consultants for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for facilities like common effluent treatment plant (CETP), KNN India reports. According to a press release from the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, the Plastic City project has already generated enormous interest from major plastic industrialists from all over the country.

The upcoming Plastic City, a first of its kind in the state of Uttar Pradesh, is being developed by UPSIDC in coordination with Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) with the estimated project cost of around Rs 250 crores. UPSIDC has also signed an MoU with All India Plastics Manufacturers' Association (AIPMA) as the project is being developed through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Two other MoUs have also been signed with GAIL to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw material including HDPE (High-density polyethylene) and LDPE/LLDPE (Low-density polyethylene/Linear LDPE).
