Rajkot-based Noble Refractories bagged the award in the innovation category, while Infinity Infoway from the same town clinched the award the MSME service category. Shree Umiya Surgical from Ahmedabad, Cyber Ceramic from Rajkot, HOF Furniture Systems from Ahmedabad and NBE Motors from Ahmedabad won awards for quality products in MSMEs in the plastic and disposables, ceramic glazed tiles, wooden furniture and electric motors segments respectively. The award for outstanding entrepreneurship in the small enterprise segment, in the manufacturing category, went to Bluecoat Private Limited from Ahmedabad.
Milan Dalal, MD, Bluecoat Private Limited, stated, “Our firm bagged the award for product quality, business ethics, commitment to consumers and innovation, research and development.”
Hasmukh Patel, MD, HOF, stated that his firm had commissioned the third largest plant in the country for the production of furniture. He added that they had received Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) from US regulators, in addition to an ergonomics certification from Canada. “There are multiple checks across the entire product cycle till it is delivered," he stated.
Sangita Palshikar of SKP Bearings from Surendranagar received the award for Outstanding Women Entrepreneur, in the individual category. SS Rathi of Vidya Wires from Vittha Udyognagar bagged the award for Outstanding Entrepreneur in the medium enterprise category, among individuals.
"We got the award for our new state-of-the-art plant at Vitthal Udyognagar, set up with an investment of Rs 1.5 crore in 2010. It manufactures enamel copper wire used in transformers and electrical electric motors. We also have a testing laboratory for our products," stated Rathi, CMD of Vidya Wires.
