Hyderabad will be hosting the 12th annual flagship IT conference, Indiasoft, from March 21 to 23. The Andhra Pradesh capital is hosting the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) promoted event for the third time, reported the Hindu Business Line.
This year greater participation is expected from emerging countries, which have been the focus of Indian IT firms in the SME sector. Indiasoft 2012 is expecting about 400 IT buyers from 75 countries and 150 home grown IT services companies.
The list will likely include 30 delegates from Africa, 25 from the Middle East and 35 from Latin America.
Indiasoft is an important event for SMEs in the IT sector. It is a chance for smaller businesses to showcase their services and products to potential clients and investors. Twenty percent of India’s IT exports are contributed by SMEs.
DK Sareen, Executive Director of ESC as quoted by the Hindu Business Line, said: “Business deals worth INR300 crore were concluded. This year there is a larger contingent of foreign companies and business deals worth INR400 crore are expected.”
