Slovenia keen on doubling bilateral trade with India

Slovenia wants to double its bilateral trade with India in the next three years, the central European country's envoy said. Bilateral trade between India and Slovenia stood at USD276 million in 2010-11.

"We are aiming to double our bilateral trade with India in the next three years," Slovene Ambassador to India Janez Premoze told reporters during an interactive session, organised by MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kolkata.

Slovenia exports items like electrical apparatus, hydraulic turbines, water wheels and synthetic filament yearn to India, while India exports petroleum oils, pharmaceuticals, textiles items and antibiotics to it.

Premoze said that Slovenia was also interested in exporting wine and wood to India.

There have been a number of high-level visits between the two countries in recent years to enhance economic co-operation and strengthen bilateral relations.
