Following the footsteps of Maharashtra and Gujarat, the West Bengal government has unveiled its draft industrial policy after a long wait on May 18, to woo entrepreneurs by showcasing the state as an attractive investment destination. The policy stressed on sustainable development of labour-intensive micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with special emphasis on food processing and agro, textiles and apparel, leather and handicrafts.

While microfinance institutions in Andhra Pradesh continue to be at a standstill, the industry has witnessed decent growth in the rest of the country, a report said Tuesday.

In a bid to lure international travellers into experiencing West Bengal's culture and heritage, the state tourism department is set to launch a mega tea tourism project in Sylee, an official said in Kolkata on Thursday.
